Customs Audit Wing merged with IR in AGP

LAHORE: The Customs Auditor Wing merged with Inland Revenue (IR) of Auditor General of Pakistan  with immediate effect.

Auditor General of Pakistan has issued a circular that Customs and Petroleum Wing in the office of Auditor General of Pakistan has merged. Customs Wing merged into Inland Revenue Wing and Petroleum Wing merged in the Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) and Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA).

Customs Today further learnt that the annual audit report for the year 2018-19 will be published combined with the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) like Inland Revenue and Customs.

Source said this decision has been taken to save the time and energy of department the same representative of FBR will be appear before the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) instead of two separate officers of customs and Inland Revenue.

In the office of Auditor General of Pakistan Punjab the process of separation has been started the shifting of all necessary items and files going on in the control of Inland Revenue custody. Now audit of both FBR departments will be conducted jointly and one book will be published.
