KARACHI: The Customs Court issued non-bail-able arrest warrants against absconding suspects namely Shah Muhammad alias Laliay son of Bangal Khan, Syed Iqbal Ahmed son of Syed Ali Ahmed, Syed Sana Ullah son of Syed Muhammad Arif and Barat Khan son of Shah Jan, who are booked in a case of attempting to smuggle contraband goods.
On August 28, 2018, Investigation Officer Masood Ahmed submitted interim charge-sheet and informed the court that on actionable information, a team of customs officials intercepted a Hino high wall truck bearing registration no: TKA-794 and recovered 60 cartons containing 3000 packets (dandas) of Dunhill cigarettes of London valuing at Rs2,400,000, 155 PP bags each containing 80kg forging-origin betel nuts total 12400kg worth Rs3,038,000, 2 bundles containing 08 PP bags each containing 50 packets of Safina gutka made in India, each packet containing 105 pouches total 42,000 pouches 84kg valuing at Rs630,000 and total value of said goods is Rs6,068,000.
He further informed the court that the above-mentioned accused are still absconders and prosecution is trying its best to arrest them. After the hearing, court accepted interim charge-sheet and issued their non-bail-able warrants for next date of hearing.
