Mianwali ASO impounds non customs paid Mazda Titan truck

MIANWALI: The Anti Smuggling Organization(ASO) successfully impounded illegally imported foreign origin Mazda Titan truck worth Rs 1.7 million involving duty and taxes to the tune of Rs8.8 million.

Sources told Customs Today, that ASO authorities received credible information regarding smuggling of Mazda Titan truck which was brought into country through illegal way. Soon after receiving the information authorities concerned of ASO constituted a raiding party comprising under the supervision of Additional Collector Muhammad Saeed Asad which also includes Superintendent, Sardar Muhammad Choudhary, Inspector Tanveerul Haq, Amer Mumtaz Bajwa, Atif Mumtaz and Sepoys Ghulam Mohyuddin, Muhammad Iqbal, Hafiz Naseer.

3,000 Iran-bound containers stranded at Karachi port as Hormuz tensions disrupt shipping

The raiding party intercepted Mazda Titan truck bearing registration no: JY-7055 Karachi near Toll Plaza M.M. Alam Road district Mainwali. The raiding party asked the owner Muhammad Saddiq to produce documents regarding legal import of vehicle but he failed to produce the documents. Upon his failure the raiding party seized the vehicles. Further proceedings are still under progress till the filing of this report.
