Hyderabad ASO recovers non-duty paid aerosol paint

HYDERABAD: Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) confiscated smuggled 540 sacks of diamond aerosol spray paint during a raid near Hyderabad Bypass.

Sources told Customs Today that Collector Customs Collectorate Khalid Hussain Jamali received a tip-off about the smuggling of foreign origin aerosol paint. He immediately formed a raiding party under the supervision of Deputy Collector Syed Kareem Adil.

The team intercepted a truck bearing registration no: P1888 near Hyderabad Bypass and recovered the said aerosol paint. The paint was being transported from Karachi to Lahore.

The ASO team asked the driver of the vehicle to produce legal documents regarding the import and possession of goods but he failed to prove anything.

The team seized the item under the customs laws including Section 2(s) & 16 of the Customs Act 1969 plausible under Clauses (89) of the Customs Act 1969.

The ASO team comprising In-charge Zulfiqar Ali Jamali , Inspectors Haresh Kumar, Inspector Maqbool Ahmed Rind and others took part in the operation.
