Customs thwarts attempt to smuggle rare turtles from Lahore airport

LAHORE: Customs officials thwarted an attempt to smuggle rare turtles at the Lahore airport.

The turtles were being tried to smuggle from Lahore to Bangkok.

According to wildlife department officials, accused Yaseen Siddique was trying to smuggle the rare turtles. The 640 turtles were packed in 4 boxes. The customs officials have detained Siddique and handed over the turtles to the wildlife department. The wildlife department has registered a case against the smuggler and approached court for further action.
