Jhang ASO impounds non duty paid Toyota during routine checking

JHANG: The Anti Smuggling Organization (ASO) has impounded a Toyota Corolla car worth Rs 400000 involving customs duty and taxes of Rs 414080.

According to sources, Additional Collector Muhammad Saeed Asad received secret information that some non-duty paid vehicles are plying on the roads. He formed a special ASO team to check these vehicles. The ASO team intercepted a car bearing registration no: ABW-281 Karachi model 1998 near Qasim Bharwana Multan Road Jhang.

The ASO team asked the owner of the vehicle who was identified as Abdul Ghafoor to produce any evidence regarding the legal import of vehicle but he failed to show any legal documents. After his failure ASO team seized the smuggled vehicle and submitted a report in the Adjudication Department for further proceedings.
