Javed Iqbal directed the KP NAB DG to expedite the progress of investigation of the important graft cases.

“Mega corruption cases will be taken to their logical end, as there is zero tolerance policy against this menace,” he said.

Citing the death incident of an accused in handcuffs, the NAB chairman said that an organized propaganda campaign has already been launched against NAB but the bureau believes in negating the organized campaign by merely showing performance. He said that at the time of death, the accused was in judicial remand and it nothing to do with NAB.

He said this year 440 pending references were filed in various accountability courts, which were languishing in cupboards and files.

He said the white collar mega corruption cases would be taken to the logical conclusion on priority basis.

He said mega corruption cases in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa would be taken to logical conclusion by ensuring transparency, upholding merit and strictly adhering to relevant laws.

The chairman lauded the performance of NAB’s Khyber Palhtunkhwa office and directed the Director General not to handcuff any accused in custody. During his visit to KP, the NAB chairman also distributed cheques to the victims of Blue City Housing Scheme, Nowshera.
