Punjab Excise Dept initiates inquiry against 18 suspended officials

LAHORE: The Excise and Taxation Department has started investigations against 18 officials, who were suspended over the charges of corruption and irregularities.

The departmental action will be taken against these officials after completion of investigations. These officials were suspended on corruption and mismanagement charges. They were involved in manipulation and tempering in token tax record.  They used to manipulate life time token tax and clearance of the vehicles of token taxes defaulters.

The Director General Excise and Taxation had suspended data entry operators Adil, Muhammad Imran, Adeel Zaheer, Atif, Muhammad Adrees, Imran Aslam,  Khurram Aftab, Kiran Ayub, Muhammad Shahbaz, Muhammad Zahid and Muhammad Ali.

The data entry operator Adil Rafique, who was working in Rawalpindi Motor Branch, had also been suspended. Saif Ullah Khan was working as data entry operator in Raheem Yar Khan. The DG had also ordered to suspend five clerks from Motor Branch Lahore including Abu Huraira, Faryad Gujjar, Muhammad Jamil , Muhammad Farooq and Rana Shabeer. Further action will be taken against these persons after completion of departmental inquiry.
