Customs ASO foils bid to smuggle Iranian diesel near Moachko Check Point

KARACHI: Collectorate of Customs Preventive, Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) has busted huge quantity of smuggled Iranian origin High Speed Diesel (HSD) worth millions of rupees.

According to the details, on the tip-off, Customs Preventive, Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) constituted a team to conduct a raid to bust a dumper containing huge quantity of smuggled Iranian origin High Speed Diesel (HSD).

During the search of the several vehicles, a truck bearing registration no: TMD-196 was intercepted by the officer of the Pakistan Customs Preventive, Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) at the Moachko Choke Point. The team of Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) inquired about the legal documents but driver failed to provide.

Deputy Collector Customs Preventive Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) Headquarters Muhammad Faisal who was accompanied with the team ordered to conduct search of the said vehicle after which huge quantity of the smuggled Iranian origin High Speed Diesel (HSD) was recovered from the said vehicle loaded with cement bags inside 20 feet container.

According to ASO sources, Customs Preventive, Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) recovered smuggled diesel weighing 10,000 liters worth Rs 900,000/- in the market.

The smuggled goods and conveyance have been seized along with arrest of one accused person. Total value of seized goods container and vehicle is estimated at Rs 3,150,000. The case has been filed and further investigations are underway.
