Faisalabad ASO impounds non duty paid Suzuki Swift car

FAISALABAD: The Customs Anti Smuggling Organization (ASO) impounded foreign origin Suzuki Swift car worth Rs10 million.

Sources told Customs Today that Collector Mirza Mubashir Baig received information about non duty paid vehicles. During the checking of vehicles the ASO team intercepted a Suzuki Swift car bearing registration number LED-10-3708 model 2005 having engine capacity 1300 CC.

The ASO staff asked the driver namely Zubair Ali resident of Quetta to produce any documents showing the legal import and lawful possession but he failed to do so.

During the investigation it was revealed that the said vehicle brought into the country without payment of customs duty and taxes through an unauthorized route.

Therefore the said vehicle was taken into the customs possession under Section 187 of the Customs Act 1969 and recovery memo was prepared in the presence of two witnesses.
