NAB Lahore issues four months performance report

LAHORE: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Lahore issued a performance report  of four months during the current year here on Thursday.

According to the report, 211 inquiries are under investigation in NAB Lahore, however, investigations on  203 inquiries continued from the beginning of 2019.

From January to April, eight inquiries were included in the investigation process while 18 ones were closed due  to non-availability of evidences. During the four months,  34 inquiries had been initiated over corruption charges.

About 48 cases were under way and 14 new investigations were approved as four cases were decided to close over non- availability of evidences while 43 investigations are under way yet.

The NAB Lahore had filed 11 references in accountability court after completing investigation on corruption cases,  including former chief minister Shahbaz Sharif and Hamza Shahbaz in Ramazan Sugar Mills reference, Qamarul Islam in Saaf Pani Company case and Nandipur corruption reference.

The NAB Lahore Intelligence Wing had arrested 46 accused during these months.
