Shipping activity at Port Qasim

KARACHI: Three ships Los Angeles Trader, IVS Gleneagles and Maritime Tuntiga carrying containers, coal and palm oil were allotted berths at Container Terminal, Electric Terminal and Liquid Terminal respectively on Wednesday.

While four more ships APL Antwerp, Yasa Ilhan, IVS Bosch Hoek and Ajnan carrying Containers, Soya Bean, Coal and LNG also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.

A total of nine ships were occupying PQA berths to load/offload Containers, Coal Chemicals, Soya Bean Seeds, Steel Coil Palm Oil and LNG respectively.

Out of them three ships Maran Gas Coronis, GSW Adventure and Globe Rose sailed out to sea on Thursday morning, and two more ships, MSC Pina and Los Angeles Trader are expected to sail on the same day in the afternoon.

Cargo throughput during last 24 hour stood at 157,037 tonnes, comprising 111,589 tonnes imports cargo and 45,448 tonnes export cargo inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 2,957 containers (TEUs) (565 TEUs imports and 2,392 TEUs exports) was handled at the Port.

Three ships APL Antwerp, Hugo Schulte and Ajnan carrying Containers and LNG are expected to take berths at Container Terminal and Engro Elengy Terminal respectively on Thursday. While a container Vessel ‘ Cosco Japan’ is due to arrive at Port Qasim on Friday.
