FBR asks Customs Collectorates to recover sales tax from M/s Montis (Pvt) Ltd

MULTAN: The Federal Board of Revenue has asked different Customs Collectorates to assist for the recovery of sales taxes from M/s Montis (PVT) Ltd.

According to details, Assistant Commissioner Inland Revenue Enforcement & Collection Corporate Regional Tax Office Lahore Muhammad Yousaf Ismail has issued tax notices to M/s Montis (Pvt) Ltd for recovery of outstanding sales tax amount of Rs30,000 and penalty of default surcharge under Sections 33(5) and 34 (1) of the Sales Tax Act 1990.

Deputy Commissioner IR, Enforcement & Collection has adjudged sales taxes and penalty surcharges against M/s Montis (PVT) Ltd vide assessment order no.03/08 dated 18 March 2019.

M/s Montis (Pvt) Ltd has failed to pay due taxes of the government despite several notices and Federal Board of Revenue has initiated process of recovery by exercising its powers conferred by clause (a) of the Sub Section (1) of section 48 of the Sales Tax Rules 2006 and requested Collector Customs (Appeasement ) Lahore, Karachi, Faisalabad, Rawalpindi, Multan, Peshawar and Sabmbrial to deduct said amount from any owing money to the said M/s Montis (Pvt) Ltd  having NTN 3109321-3 for the recovery of due taxes under the control of respective authorities.

After recovering government dues it should be sent to Corporate Regional Tax Office Lahore immediately.
