Collector Adjudication assigns additional responsibilities to ADC Asma Hameed

MULTAN: Collector Customs Adjudication has given additional responsibilities of Deputy Collector Multan Camp Office to Additional Collector Asma Hameed.

The Federal Board of Revenue has not appointed any Deputy Collector in Customs Adjudication Multan Camp Office after the transfer of Deputy Collector Saima Ayyaz. The responsibility of Deputy Collector Adjudication was given to Additional Collector Customs Adjudication Talib Hussain. The key post of deputy collector in Customs Adjudication was lying vacant for almost eight months due to transfer of Deputy Collector Saima Ayyaz.

Collector Customs Adjudication Muhammad Adnan Akram has given additional responsibilities of Deputy Collector to Additional Collector Asma Hameed to deal seizure cases formed by Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation and Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO). She was also holding charge of Customs Adjudication Faisalabad along with other responsibilities. Customs Adjudication Multan is facing pendency issues in the disposal of various seizure cases due to the absence of Deputy Collector after relocation.

Sources told Customs Today that Customs Adjudication will accelerate disposal of seizure cases taking of additional charge by Additional Collector Asma Hameed.

It is pertinent to mention here that Deputy Collector Customs Adjudication has pecuniary powers to adjudicate seizure cases up to Rs 1 million. After giving additional charge to Additional Collector Asma Hameed, Customs Adjudication Multan will conclude all seizure cases as early as possible.
