Multan ASO seizes Iranian smuggled diesel from Makhdoom Rasheed

MULTAN: Customs Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) impounded passenger bus transporting Iranian origin smuggled diesel oil during action.

Sources told Customs Today that Collector Ambreen Ahmad Tarar received information from their source that passenger bus is involved in smuggling of High Speed Diesel (HSD) from Dera Ghazi Khan to Multan. Collector Ambreen formed special teams for taking action against High Speed Diesel smuggling.

Multan police teams have done joint operation through mutual cooperation in the action of Customs. Anti-Smuggling Organization team intercepted foreign origin Daewoo bus displaying registration number:LET/5555  from Makhdoom Rasheed area.

The passenger bus have been fitted concealed tanks inside cavity of Bus for the transportation of smuggled High Speed Diesel and the passenger bus was travelling on the route of Dera Ghazi Khan to Multan. The High Speed Diesel was concealed in a specially designed oil portions of the bus.

Anti-Smuggling Organization staff found that specially designed valves were fitted under the body of the Bus for the removal of High Speed Diesel.

Multan Customs arrested four persons in their action driver and others who were identified as Ahmad Ali son of Saeed Muhammad resident of Mohallah Killi Dooki, district Loralai , Sher Muhammad son of Allah Baksh resident of Basti Dhund Wala, Ghilwan, Akbar Khan son of Azad Khan resident of Loralai and Sajjad Ahmad son of Nazeer Ahmad resident of Multan .

The arrested persons and passenger bus was taken into the custody on the spot and Customs teams brought the bus in the State Warehouse for measuring the recovered High Speed Diesel. Further investigations against seized is still under progress.

Collector Ambreen Ambreen Ahmad Tarar directed customs field staff to remain more vigilant in the jurisdiction to curb smuggling from the region and to take immediate response to any suspicious movement in order to restrain smuggling and smugglers to eliminate smuggling from region.
