ASO impounds NDP vehicles of renowned brands worth Rs54.60m

LAHORE: Collectorate of Customs Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) has seized, detained and impounded over Rs54.60 million worth non-customs paid luxury imported vehicles of renowned brands.

Sources said the market value of the vehicles is Rs54.60 million while carriage and freight value of the vehicles is Rs33.80 million. The sixteen non-customs paid vehicles involved Rs20.80 million duty and taxes to be paid to the government.

Sources said the vehicles have been seized during the month of June 2019. The ASO car cell consisting of Inspector Muratab Mushtaq and others on direction of Lahore ASO Deputy Collector Naveedur-Rehman Bughvi initiated campaign against the holders of non-customs paid vehicles and seized 16 luxury vehicles.

The ASO sources said that the deputy collector initiated the drive on the instruction of Collector Preventive Rauf Ahmed.

According to official data, the ASO Car Cell impounded Honda Civic LXW-8635, Mishtubishi Pajero BU-1853, Toyota Hilux Surf LEC-6074, Toyota Coaster EA-4546, Toyota Surf LEX-8048, Toyota Hilux Surf, HJ-734, Toyota-X Corolla APQ-522 and Toyota Fielder car LEC8225.

Similarly, the cell detained BMW Car ALI 745, Toyota Mark-X Car LED 9998, Toyota Passo car LES 863, Honda Rebone Hybrid PG-400 Honda Accord Car LED 5735, Mitsubishi Intercooler BC 7893, Toyota Surf LEC-4764 and Toyota Hilux Surf WAA 393.

The official sources said that the vehicles have been detained from various places including Model Town, Ravi Road, Defence, Ferozpur Road and other areas inside and outside of Lahore City.
