Customs playing vital role to curb smuggling of narcotics: Collector Seema Raza

ISLAMABAD: The Commandant ANF Academy Brigadier Abdul Hamid along with newly-inducted SIs, ASIs and constables visited MCC Islamabad to get briefing on Customs functions.

According to details, Collector Seema Raza Bokhari called on newly-trained Sub-Inspectors (SIs), Assistant Sub Inspectors (ASIs) and Constables of ANF (Anti Narcotics Force) led by Academy Brigadier and other officials to get knowledge about the Customs activities and functions. The Collector MCC welcomed and addressed them during the briefing which was conducted by Deputy Collector Head Quarters Maryam Khalid.

The briefing was fully focused on operational procedures and different facts and functions of (IDP) Islamabad dry port, IMO (International Mail Office) and NIIA (New Islamabad International Airport). They were informed about new trends of concealments and smuggling of narcotics and also briefed that how RILO (Regional Intelligence Liaison Office) network used to work which was established with the intent of creating a Global Intelligence Networking.

The briefing was followed by question answer session which was conducted by the Additional Collector Muhammad Ishfaque Khan who provided satisfactory replies to queries of newly inducted officials whereas addressing to participants the Collector MCC Islamabad gave a short introduction of functionality of the Customs and wished good luck to new appointees in their career. She said Customs was playing vital role to curb the smuggling of narcotics.

Talking on the occasion Commandant ANF also expressed his gratitude for conducting briefing. The Commandant invited the MCC Islamabad high-ups to nominate officers and officials for special training being conducted by ANF Academy and expressed his intent to hold mutually beneficial training programs.
