Peshawar Customs foils bid to smuggle goods worth Rs12.48m

PESHAWAR: The Customs authorities thwarted big attempt of smuggling of goods at Cashma customs check post DI Khan.

The Customs staff seized the contraband goods with total worth of Rs 12.48 millions. The Collector Customs Preventive has lauded the Customs squad of DI Khan for thwarting third attempt in last 7 days.

Acting upon prior tip-off passed by high-ups of Customs House, Peshawar Customs squad succeeded to foil possible attempt of smuggling and arrested the accused smugglers.

According to details, Customs staff at check post Cashma DI Khan intercepted one trailer laden with 40ft container. At least 06 foreign origin non-duty paid Suzuki Pick Ups worth Rs 4 million, 02 frame mini Mazda truck worth Rs 2 million were loaded in the trailer for smuggling. The Customs authorities also recovered Iranian brand of Rani juice 240 cartons worth Rs 480,000.

Market value of Hino trailer with container is estimated to be Rs6 million.
