Customs IMO seizes half kg heroin from shipment booked for Canada

ISLAMABAD: Seema Raza Bokhri, Collector MCC Islamabad, said that customs staff of IMO Islamabad seized more than half kilogram of heroin from a shipment bearing ladies cloth booked for Canada.

Talking with Customs Today, the Collector Islamabad said that as a result of increased vigilance at IMO (International Mail Office) Islamabad, the Customs staff seized more than half kg heroin powder from a shipment booked from Peshawar for Canada.

She informed that heroin was tactfully stitched in different ladies dresses and value of seized heroin is estimated in international market above Rs 5 million, adding that after registering a case, further investigation is started.

The staff who seized the heroin comprised Superintendent Sheikh Aurangzaib and Superintendent Malak Ashfaq along with other staff of class v, adding that Chief Collector Asif Jah and the Collector themselves made an appreciation call to the seizing staffers and advised them to further enhance the vigilance at IMO.
