FBR holds outreach taxpayers education program for salaried class

LAHORE: An outreach taxpayers’ education program has been launched by field formations of FBR so as to enlighten and gravitate un-registered taxpayers particularly salaried class of government departments to file income tax returns for the tax year 2019 by 31st Oct, 2019.

Twenty five workshops / training seminars have thus far been conducted by Regional Tax Office-II, Lahore under the supervision of Chief Commissioner Inland Revenue in various government departments including I.G Police, Civil Secretariat, LESCO, Pakistan Railways, Sessions Courts, WASA, SBP, Services Hospital, etc. familiarizing the un-registered persons with the online registration, E-enrollment, return filing and tax payment procedures.

Help desks have been established to facilitate employees of the government departments. Kiosks and return receipt counters have also been setup at prominent commercial areas of Lahore, Kasur, Sheikhupura and Nankana.

An orientation seminar for filing of Income Tax Return for tax year 2019 was arranged at Government College University, Lahore for officers of Higher Education Commission, DPI (Colleges) Punjab, BISE Lahore and Directorate of Education Lahore Division.

Chief Commissioner Ahmad Shuja Khan graced the occasion as guest speaker. The august gathering was apprised of quick and simplified processes of e-registration, e-enrollment, e-filing and e-payment through IRIS. The guest speaker dilated upon benefits being filer and active taxpayer. The seminar was concluded with a note of gratitude and affirmation by participants regarding filing of returns.

The outreach workshops are likely to continue till the closing date for filing of returns so that maximum number of government departments may be urged to encourage filing of return of income of their respective employees.
