KARACHI: Collectorate of Customs Port Qasim has apprehended huge quantity of Indian origin body Cream worth millions of rupees.
According to the details, during the action against Indian origin imported goods various cases have been made by Customs Collectorate of Port Muhammad Bin Qasim.
In most recent case was made pertains to the attempt against import of Indian origin Dove body cream of Unilever by Lahore based importer M/s KD Enterprises through their clearing agent M/s Fine Services.
The goods weighing 4,752 kilograms have an import value of Rs1.5 million and applicable duty taxes of Rs1.8 million. The origin of the goods was declared as European Union, informed customs officer.
During the examination of the said consignment the goods were found to be of Indian Origin over which the goods were seized and contravention and legal proceedings have been initiated for violation of relevant provisions of the Customs Act, 1969.
Collector Port Qasim Mumtaz Ali Khoso appreciated the efforts of the examination team.
It is pertinent to mention here that, the vigilance against the Indian imports has been increased on the instructions of the Chairman Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Syed Mohammad Shabbar Zaidi, Member (Customs – Operations) Jawwad Owais Agha and Chief Collector (Appraisement – South) Mrs Suraiya Ahmad Butt.
