LAHORE: Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation (I&I) has confiscated tin plates sheets and carbon steel wire worth over Rs 40 million.
Sources told Customs Today that Director Customs Intelligence and Investigation Sadia Munib received credible that wire was illegally being transported to Misri Shah. It was informed that the plates were illegally imported in Lahore under garb of Afghan Transit Trade.
Directorate of Customs I&I team raided a godown located in Misri Shah and recovered huge quantity of tin plates. The market value of seized tin plates is estimated at Rs40 million. Sources told that customs I&I team after registering a case against the owner of the godown started further investigations.
It is necessary to mention here that Director Customs Intelligence and Investigation Sadia Munib directed all anti-smuggling squads to adopt zero tolerance policy towards smuggling. Anyone found involved in smuggling should be dealt as per law.
