ASO impounds huge quantity of contraband goods worth more than Rs43m

KARACHI: Collectorate of Customs Preventive Anti Smuggling Organization (ASO) apprehended huge quantity of smuggled goods worth millions of rupees in the International market.

According to the details, in the ongoing operation against smuggled goods, Anti Smuggling Organization conducted two raids in different part of the City and recovered the contraband items in huge quantity.

During the raid the staff of the Anti Smuggling Organization (ASO) busts assorted brands of cigarettes which total to twelve thousand nine hundred and ninety Dandas worth Rs12,998,500, Cafe Creme n Captain Black brands cigars three thousand one hundred and fifty packets each containing 10 cigars valuing Rs3,900,000 have been recovered.

Black Captain n Erin more brands tobacco containing 564 Packets of tobacco valuing Rs492,000 as well as assorted brand of Indian Gutkha having one hundred and ninety five Bags each bag having assorted packets pouches valuing Rs25,790,000 have also been recovered

The said four raids were successfully conducted on Godowns at Rang Wala building Bolton Market and Bandar Road. The total value of Seizure has reached to more than Rs43 million. The case against the recovered items has been filed and further investigations are underway.

Its is pertinent to mention here during the lock down situation the Anti Smuggling Organization (ASO) is active and working round the clock to unearth smuggling attempts which is causing huge loss to the country’s economy.
