Pakistan Customs clears over 250 stranded Indians

LAHORE: Pakistan Customs deputed at Wagha-Attari border have made clearance of over 250Indians stranded in Pakistan due to the coronavirus lockdownon in the first phase.

Sources told Customs Today that the customs authorities started clearance of the passengers on Thursday and will clear over 784 Indians in three days.

On Monday, upon the direction of Collector of Customs Preventive Basit Maqsood Abbasi, a team under supervision of Assistant Collector Isfandyar Khan was constituted.

Other members of the team included Superintendent Shahid Joyia, inspector Muhammad Shabir and others.

As per information in the first and second batches, 250 each Indian nationals will be repatriated while the third batch is made up of the remaining 248 Indian nationals. The Indian nationals are in different cities of Pakistan.
