ISLAMABAD: Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has decided to launch an automated system for filing of appeals against orders passed by Commissioners Inland Revenue.
FBR spokesman on Thursday said that the decision to launch electronic filing of appeals had been taken after webinar sessions with the stakeholders.
The spokesman said that the FBR was in process to finalize the automated system in IR Commissioner (Appeal) offices. Under this automatic system aggrieved taxpayers can file appeals electronically on the IRIS portal against the orders of the tax authorities.
This automated system would enable the Commissioner IR Appeals to dispose of the appeals.
The taxpayers shall not require to go to FBR offices to file appeal. Further, this system will reduce the cost of doing business, the spokesman said.
