Dr. Sadiqullah Khan’s Hyderabad I&I destroys smuggled goods worth Rs30m

HYDERABAD: Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation (I&I) destroyed huge quantity of seized goods worth more than Rs30 million in a special ceremony.

Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation Director Dr. Sadiqullah Khan was the chief guest on the occasion while Additional Director Jamshed Ali Talpur, Deputy Director Syed Muhammad Raza Naqvi and staff of the Directorate also attended the ceremony.

The destroyed items include betel nuts 172,980 kilograms, Indian gutkha 118,002 packet, foreign origin Cigarettes 37,165 dandas. Monosodium Glutamate (Chinese salt) 24,259 kg, cutch block 2250 kg

Prominent among those who attended the ceremony includes Deputy Commissioner Fuad Ghaffar Soomro, Wing Commander 73 Wing Sindh Rangers Lt Col Salman Rasheed, President Hyd Small Traders Association and Small Industries Chamber Saleemuddin Qureshi, ASP Hyd Cantt, Assistant Director ANF, Deputy Director ISI, Additional Collector Ehsan Ali Shah, Director Press Information Deptt, Rep of Environmental Protection Agency, a delegation of Rotary International Hyd chapter, MPA Abbas Jaffri, members of civil society.

At the end of ceremony, shields were presented by Director Customs Intelligence Dr Sadiqullah Khan to Deputy Commissioner Hyderabad, Wing Commander 73 Wing Sindh Rangers and President Hyderabad Small Traders Chamber of Commerce. Merit certificates were also presented to the officers and staff of Directorate for their outstanding performance throughout the year.
