RAWALPINDI: The Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) has shown strong reservations over the proposal to extend the term of the FPCCI president for two years. In a video link meeting with Commerce Secretary Sualeh Ahmad Farooqi, RCCI President Mohammad Nasir Mirza said that the proposal to extend the term of the president of the federation for two years was not acceptable.
We demand that the term of office be limited to one year. Secretary Commerce Sualeh Ahmad Farooqi said that the tenure of the FPCCI President is being reviewed in the Standing Committee of the National Assembly. After receiving suggestions from there, information and suggestions will be shared with all the chambers of commerce. He reiterated that suggestions will be taken from the chambers before making a decision.
Chamber President Nasir Mirza said that it has always been the position of the Chambers and the business community to move forward in consultation with the stakeholders. Senior Vice President Osman Ashraf and Vice President Shahraiz A Malik were also present on the occasion.
