Faisalabad I&I seizes smuggled goods worth Rs82.3m

LAHORE: Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation (I&I) Faisalabad has seized non-customs paid items worth Rs.82.3 million during the month of July 2021.

Sources said that among these items include vehicles, dry fruits, powder milk, etc. These items were seized during various raids as their owners had smuggled them without pay customs duty of Rs.33.2 million on them.

These items had been shifted to dry port and further action against them as well as their smugglers was under progress, he added.

Earlier, on the directions of Collector Basit Maqsood Abbasi and headed by Additional Collector Muteen Alam, Additional Collector, Faizan Badar, Deputy Collector, Ms. Sidra Naz, Assistant Collector, and team consisting of Mr. Muhammad Yaqoob Ch. Superintendent, and  Mr. Shahid Bakhtair Bhatti, M Asghar Purewal, M Saleem Khan, Hassan Mahmood, Mansoor Elahi, Abdul Ghaffar, Javaid Iqbal Butt, Inspectors seized a huge quantity of smuggled / non-duty paid goods and vehicles during July, 2021 worth Rs.452.78 million. Goods include cloth, tyres, cigarettes, crockery, dry fruits and vehicles.
