Quetta Customs, FC seize narcotics worth Rs360m

QUETTA: Collectorate of Customs with the assistance of Frontier Constabulary (FC) conducted a joint operation against narcotics smuggling and recovered contraband worth Rs360 million.

Sources said that information was received that the smugglers will attempt to smuggle narcotics from Afghanistan via porous border points, to down cities from the area of Kunbi Panjpal. The Customs staff Nushkl and Frontier Crops Nushki searched the area of Kunbi Panjpai and recovered narcotics from dump place.

Collector Irfan Javed, Additional Collector Umar Shafique and Deputy Collector Zuhaib Sandela appreciated the efforts of ASO team comprising Superintendent Saleem Mandokhel, Inspector Aijaz Jola, FC Noshki.

Chief Collector Baluchistan Gul Rehman have directed the field formations to increase vigilance and strengthen the intelligence network to eliminate the smuggling completely.

The seized narcotics include 1.5 tons of high quality charas and 10 kg methamphetamine. Three persons have also been arrested. An FIR is lodged and investigations are underway.
