Chief Collector Wajid Ali presides over meeting to review strategy for auctions

KARACH: Chief Collector Wajid Ali presided over a meeting to review the progress of auction in Appraisement South and to finalize the plan for the month of October and November 2021.

Sources said that all Collector  Appraisement South and Additional Collectors (Auction) attended the meeting.

It is necessary to mention here that Customs Appraisement East projected 195 lots including 275 containers for auction. The revenue involved is Rs241 million.

Customs Appraisement West projected 97 lots including 82 containers for auction. The revenue involved is Rs224 million.

Customs Port Mohammad bin Qasim (PMBQ) projected 70 lots including 200 containers for auction. The revenue involved is Rs250 million.

The Collectorates projected the following disposal of auctionable lots / revenue for the months of October & November, 2021 which will be realized through auction conducted at relevant terminals:

The Collectorates will undertake proper record keeping of the auction records and ensure digitalization / scanning of all the auction files.

A progress report in this regard will be submitted within one month. The procedure for obtaining NOC from Plant Protection Department for auction of perishable / edible items will be streamlined for which the Collectorates will hold a joint meeting with concerned officers of Plant Protection Department.

It will be the responsibility of Assistant Collector (Auction) to ensure that all section 82 notices shall be issued by courier / UMS with complete postal address of importer / owner of goods.

A complete review of E-Auction module shall be undertaken in the next meeting.
