Iftikhar Ahmed posted as Director General Transit Trade

ISLAMABAD: Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has posted Iftikhar Ahmad, a BS-20 officer of Pakistan Customs Service (PCS), presently posted as Chief Federal Board of Revenue (HQ), Islamabad as Director General (OPS), Directorate General of Transit Trade, Karachi, with immediate effect and until further orders.

Iftikhar Ahmad is a high-profile officer having vast experience of anti-smuggling and appraisement. He is a competent and honest officer of Pakistan Customs Services.

During his tenure as Collector Preventive Quetta, he adopted zero tolerance policy against smuggling and foiled many attempts of smuggling and seized narcotics & psychotropic substances (charas, opium, heroin, ice drug etc) 2261 kilogram worth Rs 4271 million, betel nuts 1721 MT worth Rs1400 million, gutka 1721 MT worth Rs352 million, seized foreign origin cigarettes 37940 packets worth Rs285 million.

While in financial year 2021, under the supervision of Collector Iftikhar Ahmad, Pakistan Customs seized smuggled goods of valuing Rs12620 million which includes non-duty paid vehicles, cloth, and POL products etc.
