Multan Customs generates Rs123.546m through taxes in June

MULTAN: Collectorate of Customs Enforcement has collected Rs123.546 million under the heads of customs duty, sales tax, income tax and federal excise duty (FED) during month of June 2022-23.       

According to the details, Multan Customs has collected Rs104.721 million in wake of Customs duty against the assigned collection revenue task of Rs66.2 million for the month of June 2022-23. Multan Customs collected Rs80.741 million in wake of customs duty during the corresponding year. Multan Customs Collectorate has collected almost Rs.3.798 million under the head of sales tax during month of June in fiscal year 2022-23 while Multan Customs collected Rs8.614 million during corresponding fiscal year 2021-22.

Multan Customs has collected almost Rs.12.037 million income tax during June in the financial ear 2022-23. The Collectorate has collected Federal Excise Duty of Rs2.919 million during the month of June 2022-23.In addition to regular/routine collection of duty/taxes, an effective strategy was devised to specially focus on areas to enhance revenue through administrative measures like auction, Anti-smuggling, as well as crediting of seized/confiscated currency into National Bank of Pakistan.     

Multan Customs Collectorate is taking solid measures towards expedition of trade and ease of doing customs business, the measures taken on both revenues worked very well and the collectorate was able to achieve the assigned target in all areas besides trade facilitation.      

Several facilitation measures were also undertaken by the collectorate during FY 2022-23 some of which are briefed as the Currency Declaration System (CDS) has been installed at Multan International Airport which is facilitating foreigners.
