This move is part of an effort to ensure the efficient and timely collection of government revenue. The FBR has instructed the chief collectors of Customs to establish communication with the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) and authorized branches of the National Bank of Pakistan (NBP).

This coordination aims to facilitate the transfer of duties and taxes collected by these branches to the respective branches of the SBP on the same date. This ensures that the revenue collected is accounted for in the records for the month of August 2023.

By extending working hours, Pakistan Customs is taking proactive measures to meet its revenue collection targets and contribute to the country’s fiscal stability. This initiative underscores the government’s commitment to responsible fiscal management and resource mobilization.
