Multan Customs issues attachment warrants against M/s Mushtaq Leather Industries for recovery of Rs63.4m

MULTAN: Collectorate of Enforcement & Compliance (E&C) Multan recovery branch has issued attachment warrant against M/s Mushtaq Leathers Industries for recovery of outstanding amount Rs63.4 million.

According to details, Mushtaq Leather Industry Ltd has imported raw material for manufacturing of goods and evaded tax amount of almost Rs.63 4 million by paying less duty taxes during clearance of their import consignments from Multan Dry Port. The Collectorate Multan has asked several times to said importer for the payment of remaining duty taxes.

But the said importer has not paid any remaining tax amount to Multan Customs recovery branchhas attached their bank accounts and immoveable properties to recover outstanding taxes in this regard. Multan Customs has detained one vehicle and were auctioning two commercial Shops located near Clock tower Ghanta Ghar Multan for the recovery of their outstanding amount from defaulter after serving final notice but accused has taken stay order against them from Lahore High Court Multan bench against the decision of Multan Customs. Now stay order was vacated after the appeal of Multan Customs Collectorate.

Multan Customs have reinstated their recovery notice once again for the collection of outstanding taxes from M/s Mushtaq Leather Pvt Industries. Said importer is using delaying tactics for depositing of them owe duty taxes from last few months. Therefore, Multan Customs has initiated stern action against the company to recover the outstanding dues from said company.

Superintendent Ramzan Seyal has been appointed attachment officer for recovery of outstanding amount under Customs Rules,2001.The Multan Customs Enforcement & Compliance will also attach bank accounts of defaulter for recovery under Section 202 of Customs Act, 1969.
