Acting on intelligence received by Director Muhammad Asif Khan Buzdar, officials uncovered a startling revelation – the declared quantity of onions did not match the actual contents of the containers.

Upon inspection, authorities discovered an excess of 16 tons of onions, valued at an estimated Rs1.2 million. Both containers were loaded with almost 76 tons of Onion. The onion was coming to supply in The open market during Ramadan Kareem to meet local market demand. The containers were reportedly associated with a wholesale agent operating within the Faisalabad Vegetables market.

In accordance with the Customs Act 1969, the excess quantity of onions was promptly seized by customs officials. To safeguard revenue interests, the seized onions are slated for auction in the near future.

As investigations unfold, authorities are diligently pursuing leads to determine the full extent of mis-declaration and hold accountable those responsible for the irregularities.
