FTO decides issue of Customs I&I about reward money of informers

ISLAMABAD: Federal Tax Ombudsman Dr. Asif Mahmood Jah has decided the complaints of retired superintendent of Customs Intelligence and Investigation (I&I) Islamabad and ordered the FBR to direct the Director General Customs Intelligence Islamabad to approve the reward (reward money) to the informers within one month and submit the report.

Beside above mentioned all the directorates of I&I also should directed to solve the reward cases of all the retired employees within one month.

According to directive issued by Federal Tax Ombudsman) FTO the FBR has directed to DG I&I-Customs, Islamabad, to issue directions regarding processing of all pending reward claims of retired employees of I&I-Customs, who not fall within the definition as given in Section 2(10) of the FTO Ordinance, 2000, in accordance with chronological order and to process the reward claims of Mr.Tariq Malik and the concerned informer mentioned in the subject complaint within 30 days.

The FTO also directed the FBR regarding the Director I&I-Customs (HQs), Islamabad, to ensure that all the Directorates of I&I-Customs, submit compliance to directions issued by DG I&I-Customs’ office dated 19.08.2024 within a period of 30 days; and report compliance within 45 days.
