Customs Court approves judicial remand of accused in smuggling case

KARACHI: The Court of Customs, Taxation, and Anti-Smuggling has approved judicial remand of accused namely Dad Muhammad, son of Muhammad.

The court has ordered Superintendent of Central Prison, Karachi, to produce the accused before the court on November 16, 2024.

According to details, under the supervision of Director Masood Ahmed, along with Additional Director Afzaal Watto, Deputy Director Adarsh Jawahir, Superintendents Zia Moen and Muhammad Abid, and Intelligence Officer.

Dad Muhammad operates buses and coaches between Quetta and Karachi for the purpose of transporting smuggled goods.

Customs authorities have expedited their efforts against smuggling activities, particularly targeting passenger coaches operating between Quetta and Karachi.

Director Masood Ahmad directed all anti-smuggling squads to adopt zero tolerance policy against smuggling. He further directed that anyone who found involved in smuggling should be dealt as per law.
