42pc people express confidence in govt’s economic policies

KARACHI: A recent survey conducted by Ipsos Pakistan revealed that 42 per cent of Pakistanis express confidence in the current government’s economic policies, which was the highest level recorded in the past six years.

According to details, the findings suggested a great shift in public sentiment regarding the country’s economic direction. The percentage of people who believe the country was on the right track has also increased, with 42 per cent stating that the country was moving in a positive direction.

Meanwhile, the proportion of those who think the country was headed in the wrong direction has decreased by 21 per cent, now standing at 58 per cent.

According to the report, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was leading in optimism, with 48 per cent of respondents from the province stating the country was steering towards the right path. In Punjab, 42 per cent of residents share the same view.

The survey also indicated a 9 per cent increase in the number of people who believe the national economy was strong. Currently, 29 per cent of Pakistanis had described the economy as “strong”, while 23 per cent believe it was neither “strong nor weak”. Still, 48 per cent continued to consider the economy “weak”.
