Customs officers accused of shooting dead youth in Karachi

KARACHI: A young man was killed in alleged firing by Customs officials near the Boat Basin signal in Karachi.

According to the police, the incident occurred when customs officials attempted to stop a vehicle loaded with Iranian powdered milk. When the vehicle did not stop, the officials opened fire.

As a result, 28-year-old Ehsan was killed on the spot, while another young man in the vehicle remained unharmed.

The family of the deceased is currently protesting against the customs officials at Jinnah Bridge. Traffic police have arranged alternative routes to manage the situation. Traffic coming from Shershah Gulbai is being diverted toward Kharadar via ICI, while traffic from Keamari has been lined up.

Officials claim that a full investigation into the incident is underway, and further inquiries will be conducted after recording the statements of the customs officials.
