Fuel prices hiked again; petrol up by Rs4.80, diesel by Rs7.95

ISLAMABAD: The federal government has announced a fresh hike in fuel prices, raising the cost of Motor Spirit (MS) Petrol by Rs4.80 per litre and High-Speed Diesel (HSD) by a significant Rs7.95 per litre (pl).

According to a press release issued by the Ministry of Finance, effective from June 16, 2025, the new price of MS Petrol has been fixed at Rs258.43 per litre, up from the previous Rs253.63 per litre.

Similarly, high-speed diesel (HSD) will now be available at Rs262.59 per litre, compared to its earlier price of Rs254.64 per litre.

The Finance Ministry stated that the revision of petroleum prices is based on recommendations from the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) and consultations with relevant ministries.

The new prices will remain effective for the next fortnight, until the government announces the next scheduled review.

This price hike is expected to put further strain on household and transportation expenses, raising concerns among the public already grappling with inflation and economic pressures.
