KARACHI: The Sindh Revenue Board (SRB) has announced a significant milestone, collecting a record Rs306.6 billion in revenue during the recently concluded fiscal year 2024-25. This impressive figure represents a substantial growth of 29.5% compared to the Rs236.8 billion collected in the previous fiscal year.

The SRB also reported an unprecedented monthly collection in June 2025, raking in Rs40.5 billion. This marks a remarkable 44% increase over the Rs28.1 billion collected in June 2024, setting a new benchmark for the provincial tax authority.

Highest-Ever Monthly Collection Since Inception

“This Rs40.5 billion is the highest-ever monthly revenue collection since SRB began operations in 2011-12,” stated Naveed Shoukat Rajput, Secretary of the SRB, in an official statement. This record-breaking performance underscores the board’s growing efficiency and the effectiveness of its revenue generation strategies.

Rajput attributed the SRB’s success to the collective efforts and dedication of its team, emphasizing the crucial role played by the full political support received from the Sindh government. He also extended his appreciation to the taxpayers, acknowledging their consistent trust and cooperation as a vital component of this achievement.

Commitment to Continued Growth Amidst New Challenges

Looking ahead, Secretary Rajput expressed confidence that the SRB would maintain its upward trajectory in the upcoming fiscal year, FY 2025-26. He acknowledged, however, that the board anticipates new challenges, particularly with the collection of Agricultural Income Tax and the implementation of the new Negative List Tariff regime, which became effective from July 1, 2025.

The SRB’s strong performance reflects a positive trend in provincial revenue collection, crucial for Sindh’s financial autonomy and developmental initiatives.
