FBR tax offices to remain open on Sept 27-28

ISLAMABAD: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), Revenue Division, has directed all its Inland Revenue field formations to remain operational this weekend, observing September 27th and 28th, 2025, as normal working days.

The decision was formalized in a directive issued on September 26, 2025, to the Chief Commissioners Inland Revenue. The objective is twofold:

Offices Instructed to Observe Working Days

The FBR has specifically instructed the following offices to remain open and observe normal working hours on Saturday and Sunday (September 27th and 28th):

Large Taxpayers’ Offices (LTOs)

Medium Taxpayers’ Office (MTO)

Corporate Tax Offices (CTOs)

Regional Tax Offices (RTOs)

Official Mandate

The official communication, signed by Sadaf Ihsan, Second Secretary (IR Operations), confirms that the action is intended to maximize taxpayer compliance and revenue collection efforts.

A copy of the directive was also sent to the Chief (TPS) FBR, with a request for the immediate issuance of a press release and the placement of the information on the official FBR website for public notice.
