KARACHI: A high-level, 8 members, European Union delegation led by Director Asia Pacific European Commission Peteris Ustubs, along with EU Ambassador to Pakistan Raimundas Karoblis, visited Karachi Port Trust (KPT).
The delegation held a meeting with Chairman KPT Rear Admiral (r) Shahid Ahmed and discussed EU’s Global Gateway Strategy for green shipping, port modernization, sustainable connectivity and other matters of mutual interest, according to a statement issued here.
The delegation was briefed on Karachi Port’s operations and key development projects, including port expansion, green initiative, Manora Ship Repairs Yard, Maritime District, bunkering, and transshipment activities. The delegation later visited SAPT and observed advanced port operations.
