ISLAMABAD: Advisor to the Finance Minister, Khurram Schehzad said on Wednesday that Pakistan’s information technology sector achieved a record export performance, with tech exports reaching $4.2 billion during the first 11 months of fiscal year 2025-26, reflecting a 20 percent year-on-year increase.
In a post on X, he said the country’s tech exports on year-on-year basis stood at $373 million in May 2026, registering a 13 percent increase compared to the corresponding month of last year.
Khurram Schehzad said Pakistan’s technology exports were expected to surpass $4.5 billion by the end of the current fiscal year, highlighting the sector’s growing contribution to the national economy.
He noted that the technology sector continued to emerge as one of Pakistan’s strongest export success stories, playing a key role in driving digital transformation, generating high-value employment opportunities and expanding the country’s footprint in global technology markets.
The advisor said that with continued policy certainty and government support under the Budget FY2026-27, the sector was well-positioned to maintain double-digit growth, attract higher levels of investment and further strengthen Pakistan’s position as a leading global technology destination.
