The two sides discussed measures to ensure Pakistan’s energy security and maintain uninterrupted fuel supplies amid the evolving situation in the Middle East.

Baker expressed Washington’s interest in working closely with Pakistan to meet its energy needs, emphasising the importance of creating business opportunities for US companies. She also noted that long-term energy supply agreements could benefit both countries.

Managing directors of Pakistan State Oil (PSO) and Pakistan LNG Limited (PLL) briefed the meeting on interest among US companies in supplying LNG to Pakistan.

Malik outlined the government’s measures to safeguard the country’s energy requirements. Baker commended Pakistan’s handling of the fuel supply situation, the report said.

The petroleum minister said Pakistan remained committed to securing its energy needs and that teams from both countries were exploring new areas of cooperation.

He added that refinery modernisation projects in Pakistan could create investment opportunities for US financial institutions.

Malik also invited American companies to participate in the Pakistan Minerals Investment Forum, highlighting the country’s potential for investment in the minerals sector.

He said closer bilateral engagement and US cooperation could help strengthen Pakistan’s long-term energy security.
