Directions were given to accelerate registration of new businesses and installation of the Electronic Invoice Monitoring System (E-IMS). Targets were assigned to relevant officers to increase E-IMS installations across 14 designated sectors.

Enforcement teams will be constituted to ensure increased business registration and E-IMS installation. The Chairman also directed officers to ensure effective monitoring of pending tax cases and timely recovery of outstanding dues.

Emphasizing collaboration with the business community, the PRA Chairman stated that process of integrating businesses with E-IMS should be expedited with the support of chambers of commerce and relevant trade associations.

He directed strict monitoring of businesses involved in manipulating or tampering with their records despite having E-IMS installed.

The Chairman made it clear that strict action would be taken against business operators issuing fake receipts, and tax surcharge would also be imposed on those found involved in such practices.
