Accordingly, the firmware’s release in Central and Western Europe, Malaysia and Russia is already complete, after a month since it was first rolled out to Samsung Galaxy S5 units in Poland, as noted on Android Geeks.

Since the firmware is being rolled out in stages, it may take a while for the firmware to reach all the Samsung Galaxy S5 units. But once the OTA notification arrived on the phone, users simply need to confirm the download to start getting the update files. And after successfully downloading the firmware, tap Install Now for the automatic installation process to commence.

The build number for Android 5.0 Lollipop update released in Europe is XXU1BNL9 while the firmware released in Malaysia comes with version number G900FDXU1BNL3.

One of the biggest features found on Android 5.0 Lollipop update is the Material Design, which as described on Android.com is a “bold, colorful, and responsive UI design for consistent, intuitive experiences across all your devices.”

Some additional features to find after installing Android 5.0 Lollipop update on Samsung Galaxy S5 are Priority Mode, brand new Power Saving Mode, new Quick Settings feature, improved Android Smart Lock, Security and a lot more.

To manually check if the Android 5.0 Lollipop firmware is already available, Samsung Galaxy S5 users just need to go to Settings, look for General, tap About Phone, and then pick Software Updates and lastly tap on Check for Updates.

Meanwhile, those who are in the US excited for the Android 5.0 Lollipop update for the Samsung Galaxy S5 can expect the firmware to arrive this January or in February.
