Security measures reviewed: CDA directs availability of quality veg, fruits at weekly bazaars

ISLAMABAD: Officials and officers of the Capital Development Authority were directed to ensure provision of quality vegetables, fruits and other daily-use items to customers at affordable rates in weekly bazaars.

Chairing a meeting at CDA Headquarters here, CDA Member Admin and Estate Amer Ali Ahmed directed the Director Security and In-charge weekly bazaars to ensure hygienic condition pay surprise visits to monitoring prices of daily-use items. He also directed effective security measures and deployment of security guards at the entry gates to avoid any untoward incident.

The CDA Member Admin reviewed progress of CDA’s weekly bazaars and availability of quality food items at affordable rates. The meeting was attended by Director Security and In-charge CDA weekly bazaars and other relevant officers of the authority.

Amer Ali Ahmed was apprised that bazaar administration is executing a successful and result oriented push to ensure availability of fresh and hygienic fruits and vegetables in the weekly bazaars at cheaper rates. Resultantly, fruits and vegetables are being sold in the Islamabad’s weekly bazaars at rates lower than rates at markets of Islamabad and Rawalpindi.

On the occasion, he was briefed about the rates that Potato, Onion, Tomato, garlic, Peas, Carrot, Bell peeper, Bitter gourd, Apple and  Banana are being sold at Rs44, Rs34, Rs70, Rs125, Rs120, Rs32, Rs120, Rs160, Rs88,and Rs80 per kg / dozen respectively in different markets while these commodities were sold at Rs27, Rs25, 56, Rs120, Rs70, Rs30, Rs70, Rs80, Rs80 and Rs60 per kg / dozen respectively in CDA weekly bazaars in Islamabad last week.
