SIALKOT: The Customs Anti-Smuggling Squad has seized two non-customs paid vehicles from Sialkot and Noshera Virkan.
Officials said that a non-customs paid luxury vehicle was seized from accused Rab Nawaz, as the chassis number of the vehicle was tampered, while another vehicle was carrying number plate of MNA.
The team also seized a non-customs paid luxury vehicle from Sialkot resident Malik Umer. The customs officials have sent the accused behind the bars after registering separate cases against them.
Meanwhile, on the directives of Sialkot Customs Collector Qurban Ali Khan, a special team of Customs Anti-Smuggling Squad led by Assistant Collector Syed Karim Adil and Superintendent Syed Khalid Javaid seized smuggled door locks and hangers (worth Rs 1.6 million) from a vehicle during snap checking at a bridge on River Chenab and registered a case against Rawalpindi-based accused Muhammad Irfan.
The team also seized smuggled blankets, thermoses and other valuables from a truck. The team also raided a transport company’s office in Gujrat and seized a large quantity of Indian plastic crush.
