ASO Lahore seizes illegal generators worth Rs 70 million

LAHORE: Anti-Smuggling Organisation of MCC Lahore seized various generators from two different godowns worth Rs 70 million. Official sources said that the ASO team on the information of collector of customs Mukarram Jah raided at the godowns in Droghwala. The action was taken by team headed by Superintendent Mumtaz Ajmal Mian under Customs Act 162.

The accused were served search warrants and in result illegal generators of various KVs were seized. The sources disclosed that the accused illegally imported the generators from Iran and Afghanistan into Lahore. It was also informed that the seizure involved above Rs 30 million duty and taxes. A case has been registered by ASO in this regard and further investigations are under way.
